My Fellow Veterans

Transition is hard...  The change from an established norm to a new form of sustanance is always a tough process no matter who you may be, but that process is even harder when a person is leaving the military for the civilian world.  The rules and standards that dictate each of the smallest details of those in military service simply don't exist outside the military, and many veterans aren't prepared for the adjustments they'll have to make to transition successfully.

The ConOp Foundation was created to support veterans as they navigate that difficult process, and help our nation's best find employment in the technology sector.  Why technology?  Because it's the fastest growing job market in the world with no signs of slowing down.  It's actually out-pacing the creation-rate of new potential workers according to a 2012 report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook.  That demand makes it an ideal industry to transition veterans into, with good wages and longterm stability.

A unique symbiotic relationship exists between veterans, industry employers, and education institutions in San Antonio.  Each needs the other, but the interfaces between them have always been a little off-center, with each of them speaking their own language and not quite understanding the others.  Communication between these groups is a large part of ConOp's mission, as we act as the catalyst that jump starts the technology chain-reaction in our community.  ConOp acts as the translator beween these three critical aspects of our industry, ensuring each gets the optimal result from their relationship with the others.

More than anything else, I want my fellow veterans to know that they are not alone.  The break in this process is not your fault, but you can, and will, overcome it.  ConOp is here to help you do just that.  I am here to help you do that.

You are still the most effective fighting force in the history of the world.  You're just wearing a different uniform, now.

Forward!
