Purpose

For many servicemen exiting the military, there is a sense of finality that can be fairly depressing. It seems a good idea to remind these men and women that transition is just that, a transition. It is not the end of anything, but rather another course change in the normal flow of life. In military terms, life is a never-ending run of continuing operations.

Additionally, many veterans are newly exposed to a life without rules and some form of direct leadership. There is a shock in a new life that no longer includes the structured routine of military service. What these servicemen need is a new set of rules, a new document better suited to their new situation. They need a concept of operations for negotiating the new mission they’ve found themselves in.

This new “concept of operations” for their “continuing operation” in life is the idea behind the name ConOp Foundation. A foundation populated with resources and people for aiding veterans in their new roles. Besides helping veterans to find employment or to retrain into more marketable skillsets, ConOp will also help retain talent in the San Antonio area and to train new talent into growth areas. Initially targeted towards the technology industry, there is no reason that scope couldn’t later expand into additional industries like aerospace, medical, and others.
